The unofficial start of summer, Memorial Day, was this weekend and that means wedding season is kicking into full gear. Are you a bride trying to figure out which dress is perfect for your bridesmaids? Weddington Way’s extensive collection has the perfect dress for every summer occasion —from chiffon dresses that will flutter in a soft beach breeze to preppy styles that will stand out against golf course greens. Here, we share our favorite dresses that are ideal for warm weather weddings be it at a beach, country club, winery, garden, or farm.
Joanna August, Alfred Angelo, Donna Morgan
Dresses for beach weddings, from left to right: A champagne colored maxi dress with a bodice ruffle will show of your bridesmaids’ golden tans. Pair this dress with bejeweled flat sandals (or bare feet!) for a look that’s casual, beachy, and chic. • A one-shoulder dress is playful and fun, just like a reception on the beach. Don’t shy away from the yellow color — it’s surprisingly flattering on a variety of skin tones. • The sweetheart neckline and flat full length of this Donna Morgan dress is classic and graceful. We love it for a beachside wedding.
Joanna August bustier and skirt, Lela Rose, Watters
Dresses for country club weddings, from left to right: A bustier top in one color and a skirt in another color, like the one seen here by Joanna August, feels fresh and modern. The blue and white color combination adds a pop of preppiness. • The draping on this Lela Rose dress is beyond elegant. It’s ideal for the bride who is hoping to have a sophisticated black tie wedding reception. • For a more formal afternoon wedding inside the club house, we love this fitted one-shoulder dress by Watters. It’s sophisticated and elegant, but not fussy or dated.
WTOO, Alfred Angelo, WTOO
Dresses for winery weddings, from left to right: Metallics were all over the Spring 2013 runways, so why not add a little sheen to your wedding party? WTOO’s classic bridesmaid dress will stand out the vineyards. • We think the sweetheart neckline and bodice ruching on this Alfred Angelo dress are awesome. The bold color will look fabulous against a sea of green grapes. • Color-blocking is another big trend this season and we love this WTOO maxi dress for its two tones. Pair with soft curls and wedge sandals for a look that screams elegant winery wedding.
Watters, Donna Morgan, Joanna August
Dresses for garden weddings, from left to right: A pretty and girlie lace dress is great for a ceremony surrounded by gorgeous flowers. We even love the idea of floral crowns in your maids hair! • The chiffon fabric and full skirt of this Donna Morgan dress feels very soft and light. It definitely will channel your bridesmaid’s inner fairy — wouldn’t it look lovely at a Midsummer Night’s Dream themed wedding? • The ruffle bodice and bow-tied gathered waist give this dress a super flirty feel. We can just see it looking beautiful in a secret garden ceremony.
Watters, After Six, Watters
Dresses for farm weddings, from left to right: We think the ruffley layers of chiffon on this strapless dress would look adorable with cowboy boots! • Want your maids in a full length dress? You can’t go wrong with this strapless straight dress from After Six. It’s asymmetrical bodice is refined, but not stuffy. • The pockets on this dress give it a super casual feel, which is ideal for a wedding that involves hay barrels and mason jars. Your maids will be on trend as emerald green is the Panetone color of 2013.
